Dr. Reijntjes passed away on 15-06-2010.

On June 15th Dr. Reijntjes passed away in Bussum, the Netherlands,
at the age of 95 years.

Dr. Reijntjes was a famous ENT Surgeon from the Netherlands.
Tineke de Silva was working together with him at the Prof. Dr. Huizingschool for Hearing Impaired Children in Enschede, the Netherlands from 1972 till 1984.

When Tineke de Silva (founder/principal of the Dr. Reijntjes School for the Deaf in Sri Lanka) had plans to start a Deaf School in Sri Lanka, in 1983, Dr. Reijntjes was supporting her a lot.
Therefore Tineke de Silva named the Deaf School after Dr. Reijntjes, when she started the School on February 2, 1984.

Dr. Reijntjes was the Patron of the Dr. Reijntjes Foundation (de Stichting tot Steun aan de Dr. Reijntjesdovenschool in Sri Lanka) in Enschede, the Netherlands.




Dr.Reijntjes overleed op 15 juni 2010.

Op 15 juni 2010 overleed Dr. Reijntjes op 95-jarige leeftijd in Bussum.

Dr. Reijntjes was een bekende KNO Arts in Enschede en omgeving.
Tineke de Silva werkte met hem samen aan de Prof. Dr. Huizingschool (School voor Slechthorende kinderen) in Enschede van 1972 tot 1984.

Toen Tineke de Silva( Hoofd en oprichter van de Dr. Reijntjesdovenschool in Sri Lanka)
plannen maakte om een Dovenschool te starten in Sri Lanka, in 1983, was Dr. Reijntjes haar erg behulpzaam.
Daarom noemde Tineke de Silva de Dovenschool naar Dr. Reijntjes bij de opening op
2 februari 1984.

Dr. Reijntjes was de beschermheer van de Stichting tot Steun aan de Dr. Reijntjesdovenschool in Sri Lanka, momenteel gevestigd in Oldenzaal, Nederland.
