De Stichting tot Steun aan de Dr.Reijntjesdovenschool in Sri Lanka
werd opgericht in 1982, toen Tineke de Silva-Nijkamp met de voorbereidingen begon om deze Dovenschool te starten in Sri Lanka.
Het doel van deze Stichting is om de activiteiten van de Dr.Reijntjesdovenschool in Sri Lanka te ondersteunen, voorlichting te geven aan sponsors en belangstellenden en de donaties van sponsors voor de Dovenschool over te maken naar Sri Lanka.

The Foundation Dr. Reijntjes School for the Deaf was established in Enschede, the Netherlands, in 1982, when Tineke de Silva-Nijkamp was about to start with the Deaf School in Sri Lanka.
The Board Members are supporting the activities of the Deaf School in Sri Lanka; they are giving information to sponsors and are transferring the donations for the Deaf School to Sri Lanka.
The Deaf School is named after Dr. Reijntjes. He was a famous ENT Doctor in Enschede, the Netherlands. He passed away in June 2010 at the age of 95 years.
Tineke de Silva worked 12 years together with him in the Prof. Dr. Huizingschool in the Netherlands, before she started the Dr. Reijntjes School for the Deaf in Moratuwa, Sri Lanka in 1984.
